MY HENRY. MY ONE YEAR OLD.

my amazing henry,
i sit here with tears in my eyes, in absolute disbelief, that you are a YEAR OLD today. i cannot even believe i have had the privilege of being your mommy for the past 365 days...what an honor.

god gave us insight into your personality, even before you were born...you had quite a wild spirit from the very beginning...the entire pregnancy was incredibly difficult---lots of trips to the hospital---and never mind your delivery...definitely a wild spirit. i remember the first time i was finally able to see you...my goodness, it was indescribable. completely unreal. i was madly in love with you the first moment i laid eyes on you.

there were the beautiful, random, not-seen-very-often moments of you being peacefully quiet...




but most often, and by "most often," i mean, "all the time. from your second day of life til you were 8 weeks old," you were crying. and when i say, "crying," i really mean, "screaming. at the top of your presh little lungs. constantly. non-stop. morning. noon. night."
needless to say, we don't have many pictures of your first few months of life, because they all would have looked exactly like this.

you have such a fun, wild spirit that we are MADLY in LOVE with!!
from the moment we brought you home, you have needed to be entertained---constantly.
i always said that you need me to perform a three-ring circus for you---all day..which has made things a bit more complicated...but always perfect, because that is how you are.

you love acting silly

and you have always LOVED to be held---pretty much all the time. day after day i would do laps around the house holding you, because that is what kept you happy---which made us ALL happy ;)
when you started crawling, you needed to be held a little bit less...a little bit.

you LOVE hanging out with your big brother and making him laugh.
you are always making us laugh.

you are always on the go. always needing to do something different than you were the minute before.

you are my wild-spirited ONE YEAR OLD and i could not love you anymore than i already do.
